Famous Chimichurri

Chimichurri is well known to be the perfect South American sauce to serve with meat cooked over fire. But this versatile dressing goes just as well with all sorts of meat, fish, vegetables and salads.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh oregano,
  • chopped (or 1 tablespoon
  • dried oregano)
  • ½ cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • (adjust to taste)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions:

Combine Ingredients: In a bowl, mix together finely chopped parsley, minced garlic, chopped oregano, and red pepper flakes.

Add Liquids: Pour in red wine vinegar and olive oil. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.

Season and Adjust: Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Adjust the red pepper flakes according to your preferred level of spiciness.

Let It Rest: Set the sauce aside to allow the flavours to meld while you prepare your dish.

Serve generously with any meat, fish, or vegetables.
